The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to provide NWCG
wildland fire training to non-agency personnel. The Pacific Northwest Coordinating
Group (PNWCG) believes that to provide the highest level of safety and productivity, all
resources utilized on fire suppression incidents within the Pacific Northwest must
meet or exceed all training, experience, and physical fitness standards identified in the
NWCG Standards for Wildland Fire Position Qualifications, (PMS 310-1).
Under the terms of this MOU, members of PNWCG and the Provider propose to form a
partnership whereby the Provider agrees to provide training to non-agency personnel,
following all guidelines in the PMS 310-1, as well as ensuring that all Lead and Unit
Instructors meet the requirements found in the NWCG Standards for Course Delivery,
PMS 901-1.
