1.0 INTRODUCTION This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). This notice is released to gain insight into potential sources for a requirement for Surgical Instrument DataMatrix Scanners for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): Richard L. Roudebush VAMC 1481 W. 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46202 Cincinnati VAMC 3200 Vine St. Cincinnati, OH 45220 This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute an invitation for bids, requests for proposals, quotes, or an obligation on the part of the VA to acquire any products or services. 2.0 DESCRIPTION OF NEED The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking potential sources capable of providing Surgical Instrument Barcode Scanners equivalent to the NuTrace R+ 2D Reader. This scanner is vital for ensuring high-quality patient care by precisely managing and tracking various medical instruments and tools. 3.0 SPECIFICATIONS The Surgical Instrument DataMatrix Scanner should meet or exceed the following: Ability to scan and track a wide range of medical instruments and reusable surgical tools. User-friendly interface for quick training and adaptation by healthcare professionals. Seamless Integration with existing NuTrace Laser Etching Systems Contain LED lights to illuminate the data matrix code 2MP Camera - read Data Matrix as small as 0.7mm X .7mm Camera to assist in the inspection phase of the instruments as it magnifies the instrument onto the monitors for closer inspection. Read a 2D Data Matrix in less than 1/2 Second per instrument Handle 2-D codes of the widest variety of surface type, perspective, low contrast and more On-board decoding notification with beep and LED flash showing the user a successful read Small footprint, rugged design to be handled daily Single USB power required Data Export fully configurable to meet specific and ever-changing communication needs including Keyboard Wedge emulator and virtual COM 4.0 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Interested parties are requested to provide the following information: Company Information: Name, address, point of contact, phone number, and email address. Experience: Previous experience in providing similar medical scanning equipment to healthcare facilities, preferably within the VA or other government agencies. Business Classification: Indicate whether your business qualifies as a small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, or woman-owned small business. Certification: Your UEI, and able to show you are currently active in SAM. Made in America: Manufacture location of scanner.
