Specifications include, but are not limited to: (a) Conduct mediation in a neutral and impartial setting and maintain a positive environment for dispute resolution.
(b) Assist parties, identify issues, and encourage parties to explore options to resolve their disputes.
(c) Maintain confidentiality for all verbal and written information offered in the mediation process.
(d) Provide qualified mediators. Mediators must have received 40 hours of core mediator knowledge and skills
training and, to remain in a qualified mediator status, completes a minimum of 20 hours of additional training or
education during each two (2) year period. Documentation of all training must be sent to STATE by September
30 of each year.
