Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this specification is to describe a 25 ton roll back flatbed trailer. The trailer will be used for transporting a microsurfacing machine with hopper and other attachments that require a low angle of approach. The trailer shall be standard production, model, and year with current accessories and in addition meet or exceed the following minimum specifications: 1. Axles a. Triple axles meeting the required gross vehicle weight rating of the trailer (weight shall be the specified 25 ton payload capacity plus the weight of the trailer) b. 49" spacing c. Unitized hubs, permanently lubed, synthetic grease packed or oil bath d. Axles shall have a minimum 20,000# rating 2. Wheels and tires a. Sufficient sized wheels and tires that meet or exceed the load rating of the trailer i. Tire size - 215/75R17.5, 16PR b. Spare wheel and matching tire c. Wheels shall be solid, disc one piece constructed, 8-hole pilot mounted 3. Brakes a. ABS, air, all wheels, full capacity heavy duty brakes i. Minimum 4S2M air brake ABS system b. 12 ¼" x 7 ½" c. Breakaway control valve d. 1,000 cubic inch air reservoir e. Air brake lines shall extend 4'-0" ahead of the pintle eye i. Air brake lines shall be longer than the safety chains ii. Dummy plugs for air lines when not in use f. Brake lines shall be routed through frame members and protected with rubber grommets wherever possible, otherwise, they shall be encased in conduit except for tight bend areas and retained so not to sag when mud and snow/ice build-up on them g. Couplings h. Brake system shall meet all DOT requirements 4. Deck a. 34' long, flat b. 102" wide c. 100% wood deck surface NO EXCEPTIONS i. 2" nominal Apitong decking ii. Planks shall be mounted in a manner to prevent warp and curl iii. No metal rails shall be exposed or be higher than the wood decking d. 14 “D” tie down rings equally spaced, 4" ID, 1 at 12" from each corner and equally spaced thereafter i. Full ring access above RUB rails e. Shall have chain grab slots (key hole) in the top of the side rails between every “D” tie down ring
