1. JACKET MATERIAL a. The outer jacket material shall be constructed of highperformance polyester with Polyurethane coating. The outer jacket shall be Class 3, Type R waterproof material. ______ _____ _______________________ b. The jacket shall have a zip out removable insulated fleece synthetic polyfill fiber liner. ______ _____ _______________________ c. The collar shall be made of fleece material. ______ _____ _______________________ 2. REFLECTIVE/HIGH VISIBILITY MATERIAL a. The outer fabric shall be safety (Hi-Vis) florescent yellowgreen color with a black bottom. ______ _____ _______________________ b. The jacket shall have silver strips for day and night visibility. The strips shall consist of 2” wide reflective silver fabric. The reflective material shall be 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material, Product No. 8925, silver fabric. ______ _____ _______________________ i. All reflective strips shall be sewn or RF welded securely to the jacket. ______ _____ _______________________ ii. A 2” reflective strip shall be placed over each shoulder of the jacket (in front and back) and extend to a 2” 360° strip sewn around the lower portion of the jacket. ______ _____ _______________________ iii. There shall also be 2” reflective strips around each sleeve near the top and bottom of each sleeve. This totals 2 reflective strips per arm sleeve. ______ _____ _______________________ iv. The amount of reflective material on the jacket shall be adequate to meet Class 3 Type R requirements. 3. BINDING a. All edges shall be bound and sewn with a single stitched durable cloth binding, being yellow or black in color. It is preferred the binding be the same color as the background material and the stitching be the same color as the material being sewn. ______ _____ _______________________ b. In the sewing process of the binding, the cloth binding shall be folded to create a smooth edge on all edges and seams. Plastic type bindings or borders are not acceptable. c. When sewing the reflective tape or bindings, a lock stitch shall be used. The stitch count shall be no less than 6 or more than 12 stitches per inch.
