Specific to intervention and assessment, this legislation requires schools and districts to: • implement formative assessments at regular intervals, adjust teaching practices accordingly • provide targeted interventions for each student who needs additional support. • implement a research-based intervention program which uses high-quality supplemental materials that incorporate evidence-based instructional strategies. This bill also authorizes NDDPI to establish and operate a pilot program for the intervention and assessment/screening portions of statute. The pilot program, focused on grades 4-8, must include individualized mathematics learning tools that use a skill-level screener/assessments to identify student needs, measure progress, and report on that progress to evaluate and improve student learning and performance outcomes
