Local support and service of the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) system is necessary with a certified technician to troubleshoot and update equipment as needed within two business days. Frontier Precision is the only local provider that provides full service and offers in-house certified service (hardware) technicians. Frontier Precision also offers loaner equipment should the equipment not function properly. Additionally, Frontier Precision completed a demo flight in July of 2024 for the PSC quoted at a total cost of $6,100.00 that has not been billed on the contingency that the PSC make a LiDAR purchase from Frontier at a later date. The PSC currently has an outdated DJI brand UAS that will no longer be permissible for use with federal funds after December 22, 2025, due to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025 going into effect. Aerial photography capabilities have been crucial to PSC project planning and management, and the implementation of LiDAR technology will greatly expedite the pre- and post-construction analyses of PSC projects.
