The Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN), a subdivision of the North Dakota University System – Core Technology Services (collectively referred to as “NDUS”), governed by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE), is soliciting proposals to enhance the user experience for Public, School, and Special Libraries currently utilizing the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS). This RFP represents a strategic initiative to modernize and unify the patron experience across digital platforms, ensuring libraries are equipped with the tools necessary to engage users effectively and deliver high-quality, accessible services. We are seeking a solution that offers seamless, user-friendly interfaces for both web and mobile environments, providing a consistent experience for patrons across devices. ODIN Libraries is initiating a Request for Proposal (RFP) to identify and implement a modern Discovery Platform (PAC) and Mobile Application that will significantly enhance the user experience across our Public, School, and Special Libraries currently operating on the Polaris ILS. This initiative supports our strategic commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective library services, ensuring our member libraries have access to the best tools for engaging students and patrons. The selected solution(s) will: • Replace the existing Polaris Power PAC with a modern, intuitive discovery interface. • Introduce a dedicated mobile application to provide a seamless and unified patron experience across devices. • Libraries within the consortium must retain their individual identity and operational autonomy through dedicated branding and customization options. • Improve accessibility, usability, and engagement for all library users. • Align with current ADA Title II Web Accessibility standards.
