The project consists of preliminary and final design related activities to develop plans, specifications, contract documents, cost estimates, necessary permitting, and bid documents for the 2026 Water Main Replacement project. The project consists of replacing approximately 5,800 feet of asbestos concrete and cast iron pipelines in the following areas: Street From To 2nd St NE 5th Ave NE 6th Ave NE 3rd St NE 5th Ave NE 6th Ave NE 4th St NE 4th Ave NE 6th Ave NE 5th St NE 4th Ave NE 6th Ave NE 4th Ave NE 4th St NE 7th St NE 5th Ave NE 4th St NE 5th St NE 6th Ave NE 2nd St NE 5th St NE All mains, valves, fittings, services, hydrants and piping will be replaced. Existing pipelines will be abandoned in place. The project will be designed and constructed per NDDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Materials Sampling and Testing Manual, and Construction Records Manual. City of Watford City standards will supplement NDDOT as needed. The selected consultant will assist with a DWR cost share grant application and grant administration. All design and construction data will become the property of the City upon completion of the final submittal.
