Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Plants “Off-Week” Publicly Visible Area Mowing and Trimming. 16 services annually during the grass maintenance season (April through November). Mow the areas as outlined in the reference maps at a height to 2” to 2 ½”. Trim all curbs, wall areas, fences, and edges and/or all areas not accessible with a mower with a string trimmer. Use an edger attachment or edging machine to define mulch or pine straw beds, walkways, and curbs to maintain a neat appearance. Creeping grass in plant beds, groundcover transition areas curbs and sidewalks shall be cut and maintained with each “A and B” lawn maintenance visit. Blow off sidewalks, roads, curbs, and non-turf surfaces so they are clear of grass clippings, dirt, and mulch. B. Full Site Mowing, Trimming, and Police Area. Mow the areas as outlined in the reference maps at 2” to 3” height. Trim all curbs, walls and edges and/or all areas not accessible with a mower with a string trimmer. Use a string trimmer or edger to define mulch or pine straw beds and walkways to maintain a neat appearance. Creeping grass in plant beds, groundcover transition areas curbs and sidewalks shall be cut and maintained with each “A and B” lawn maintenance visit. All Rip-Rap storm water retention areas and gravel areas on any site shall be trimmed and maintained with each B service type visit. These areas shall remain weed, shrub, tree, and debris free. Blow off sidewalks, roads, curbs, and non-turf surfaces so they are clear of grass clippings, dirt and mulch. C. Plants Fence Line Perimeter Maintenance (note: remote fence line comment 4th bullet). For security and maintenance all fence lines shall remain clear on both sides of the fence. The reference maps for fence line clearing calls out fence lines at the treatment plants (EMJ and DEB) that abut a wooded area. These areas are to be cut monthly with trimmers, saws, clippers, brush hogs or other means to maintain a (4) foot clearing against the wooded side of the fence. All other fence lines that do not abut wooded areas shall be maintained during the normal mowing and trimming schedule during “A” and “B” services. Post and Pre-Emergent herbicides treatments are permitted (6) inches on either side of a fence if the contractor chooses this method to reduce string trimming against a fence. NOTE: Remote site fence lines are within he designated cutting area for each site and shall be maintained routinely with each service.
