The project location is 7867 NC Hwy 14, Eden, NC, at the new Smith River Bridge. • Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, taxes, fees, and permits to complete the job as shown on the plans and specifications for the project. • Contractor to note that a Corps of Engineers review may be required due to work in the Smith River. The Contractor will work with the County in submitting the needed information for Corp approval of the project. • The contractor will be required to provide all water, electrical, and portable toilet service for the entirety of the project. • The contractor will protect the project to keep any debris, trash, sediment, or contaminants of any kind from reaching the water of the Smith River. Any contaminants reaching the river should be reported immediately to Rockingham County and NCDEQ. • Contractor shall note that this project involves work in and around a moving body of water and that all needed safety measures, equipment, and procedures shall be followed by the Contractor, their subcontractors, and their staff. • Signage should be posted at the job site warning of the dangers of working around moving water. • All work shall be performed in a first-class workmanlike manner as described in the plans and specifications for the project. • No changes to the scope of work shall be permitted without the written consent of Rockingham County. • Any changes or differences in the plans and specifications shall be brought to the immediate attention of Rockingham County. • Rockingham County reserves the right to reject any bids and to waive any bid formalities that are in the best interest of the County.
