Charlotte Douglas International Airport (“CLT” or “Airport”) is seeking experienced Companies to respond and assist with snow removal from the various airfield areas during adverse weather events. Upon mobilization, the equipment, mechanics, and operators will work with CLT Staff to plow or push snow from affected areas until CLT Staff determines the need for clearing of snow has been met. Locations of areas to be cleared and the timing of clearing said locations will be determined by CLT Staff. a. CLT generally experiences three (3) snow events per year with each lasting approximately 3 days. The expectation is for a generalized work schedule of twentyfour (24) hours per day, for a period of three (3) days. This is only an estimate; CLT does not guarantee the number of events or hours. b. This equipment is to be mobilized at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week upon notification from CLT. The Company must provide this equipment and operators within four (4) hours of notification by written (email) and verbal (phone call) communication. Operators and mechanics must be on standby mobilization once communication is received until told to stand down by CLT Staff. c. Operators and Mechanics will be required to operate and maintain the equipment in order to work in 12-hour shifts, 24-hours per day until adverse weather impacts to the airfield have abated and conditions have been mitigated to allow for safe aircraft movement. Determination of safe movement conditions is at CLT Staff’s discretion. d. Approval of Hours Worked by CLT Staff is required prior to billing by Company. e. Each contractor should own a minimum of two skid steers to be used in this contract.
