The City of Winston-Salem has many city parks such as Miller Park, which is a naturally wooded park in the heart of Winston-Salem with streams, paved and natural walking trails, bocce and pétanque courts, 6 picnic shelters, playgrounds, exercise stations, two baseball/softball diamonds, an amphitheater, four lighted tennis courts, restrooms, and horseshoe pits. It also has a recreation center with additional programming. Miller Park is an active part of the community and receives high usage all year round. Plans will include park improvements to include a new restroom replacement, expanded playground, park safety lighting, trail reviews, widening of walking trails to 10’, improved directional signage, construction of a shade structure, picnic shelter upgrades where needed, amphitheater repairs, new trash cans, benches, and ADA improved accessibility.
