Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. 150 Each Mueller Fire Hydrant, Raleigh Spec, 2’ Vertical, w/two NST 2- 1/2” Hose Nozzles & one 5” Storz Nozzle, Chrome Yellow w/Silver Nozzle Caps (COR Item 1003508). 2. 150 Each Mueller Fire Hydrant, Raleigh Spec, 3’ Vertical, w/two NST 2- 1/2” Hose Nozzles & one 5” Storz Nozzle, Chrome Yellow w/Silver Hose Nozzle Caps (COR Item 1003511). a. Fire hydrants must comply with AWWA Standard C-502-94. b. The City of Raleigh and all merger area fire hydrant nozzles shall have National Standard Threads. c. Hydrants must resist accidental and deliberate contaminations of the water supply. d. Hydrants must have two (2) 2½” inch NST hose nozzles, and one (1) 5” Storz connection pumper nozzle. The nozzle shall be an integral part of the fire hydrant and must be furnished by the manufacturer or authorized distributor designated by the manufacturer. e. Storz connector shall have the following characteristics: brass hydrant nozzle connection; have hard anodized aluminum Storz ramps and lugs (hydrant and cap side); and require a high-torque Storz spanner wrench in order for the cap to be removed. f. The hydrant valve opening must be five and one-quarter inches (5-1/4”) g. Bronze to bronze threads between the hydrant seat or seat ring and the seating attaching assembly. h. Hydrants must include cast or ductile epoxy lined shoe, rubber drain seals and positive, protective valve stop device. i. Hydrants must open-left type and shall possess a break away flange. j. Hydrants must be painted Chrome Yellow with a Silver operating nut. k. Bidders must provide a technical/schematic drawing of the hydrant quoted with their bid.
