Assist the Owner with easement acquisition for the Project. It is anticipated, depending on the approval of the selected route, there will be approximately 50-86 easement acquisitions required. Meet with key City staff and the engineering team for an initial kickoff meeting to describe the acquisition process and discuss what input and materials will be needed from City staff throughout the process. Initially, the City will provide a copy of the deed and tax map reference for each impacted property necessary for easement acquisition. Review engineering plans and easement exhibits for completeness and accuracy from a real estate acquisition standpoint. Perform current owner title examinations on all parcels necessary for easement acquisition. Follow customary acquisition policy and procedures with respect to the negotiations process. Notify in writing all affected property owners of whom easements will need to be obtained and schedule an in-person meeting with each affected property owner to discuss the project and the necessity to obtain the easements.
