Specifications include, but are not limited to:Carteret County, North Carolina, is seeking proposals from qualified firms to complete a Cherry Point Regional Joint Land Use Study (CPRJLUS) implementation project. This effort is funded by the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA), which provides grants to State and local governments to complete implementation projects identified in JLUS reports. Interested firms must demonstrate knowledge and experience in community planning, development and land use issues, ecosystem management/impact analysis, fiscal impact analysis, economic development and military installation management and operations. Each task identified in this project will be completed by June 1, 2018. A Joint Land Use Study is a collaborative planning process to bring together military officials, local government officials, and interested members of the community to discuss the relationship of the activities and future of military installations and their surrounding local communities. The purpose of the CPRJLUS is to build on previous planning initiatives such as the 2002 Eastern Carolina Joint Land Use Study and develop recommendations to assist in preserving the military mission and furthering economic development in the area. The CPRJLUS study was completed in 2016 and the implementation recommendations are the basis for each task of this project.
