1. NC Teaching License - Visually Impaired / NC Certification Orientation and Mobility Specialist 2. Experience with technology, low vision devices 3. Experience with providing instruction for students with disabilities including data management skills 4. Provide visual impairment services based on the individual student’s evaluation results and the planned intervention goals in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). 5. Complete observations/screenings evaluations of students with suspected difficulties in relation to a visual impairment, and complete written reports as required by the established procedures in JCPS. 6. Develop and/or contribute information for use in IEP’s and/or IEP goals and current levels of performance of students as needed for the current school year, based on students’ identified needs for services. Develop IEPs of students reflecting the progress made during the year and the goals for the upcoming school year. 7. Attend IEP meetings as needed to explain service delivery, results of evaluations, and development of IEPs. 8. Provide services required for interventions and/or those listed on the student’s IEP. 9. Provide consultation and training to other staff members working with students. 10. Attend other meetings as required by JCPS. 11. Verify the licensing and credentials of each of its service providers assigned to work with JCPS. 12. Service providers must have a current driver’s license and personal transportation. 13. Agency must follow state requirements and comply with the NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Guidelines for Visually Impaired Services in Schools.
