TREE REMOVAL: The contractor shall remove 5 trees from the site. The approximate location of the trees is shown on the overhead map. Stumps shall be dug up and removed and disposed of in an LCID landfill. The holes from stump removal shall be filled with clean soil and compacted, sown with grass cover. If stump holes are located in the area of the driveway or parking lot, the Contractor shall remove any loose soil down to undisturbed soil. Gravel shall be placed into the hole and brought level with the new or existing parking lot or driveway. The use of dirt fill will not be permitted in these locations. CONCRETE WORK: Concrete work consists of grading, site prep, forming, and pouring the concrete apron as shown on the plans at the driveway entrance to the site. The existing gravel and soil shall be removed to allow for an 8-inch-thick slab as shown on the plans. Slab shall be 3000 psi concrete with a light broom finish, and have 6x6 WWF for reinforcing, set at onethird height of slab. The slab shall be allowed to cure for a minimum of 7 days before placing traffic on the apron. Contractor shall protect the slab from mud and debris during construction. Approximate slab size is +/- 1600 square feet. The second slab is for the handicap parking spot near the river access. Contractor shall grade the existing gravel and soil area to allow for a 6-inch-thick slab as shown on the plans. Slab shall be 3000 psi with a light broom finish, and have 6x6 WWF for reinforcing, set at one-third height of slab. The slab shall be cured for a minimum of 7 days before placing traffic on the parking spot. Contractor shall protect the slab from mud and debris during construction. The approximate size of the slab is 400 square feet. Control joints: The Contractor shall saw cut control joints in both slabs. The apron slab shall have a joint cut in the center of the slab running from Hwy 14 to the rear edge of the slab, and joints cut at 20-foot intervals from Hwy 14 to the rear of the slab running perpendicular to the middle cut. The parking slab shall have 2 cuts, one in each direction, to divide the slab into 4 equal parts. Both slabs shall be level with any gravel from the driveway or parking lot upon completion. Contractor shall paint the required handicap parking space designation in one space. Paint shall be an approved color to conform to ADA guidelines. GRAVEL WORK: Gravel work at the site shall consist of leveling the existing gravel and adding one layer of Class “A” stone, roll compacting this layer. A second layer of “ABC” stone shall be added to layer #1, roll compacted and worked smooth to provide a level drive and parking area along the entire length of the roadway. Any contact point of gravel and concrete shall be smooth and level around all sides of the concrete. Gravel for the walkway to the river stairs shall be 4 inches of gravel dust, compacted and smooth to allow for easy access to the river stairway. Contractor to verify the length of the gravel pathway at the site before bidding project. Contractor shall grade gravel to create a minimum of 3 small swales in the length of the driveway to help promote water drainage and prevent gravel washing. Contractor and County shall meet and agree on the locations of these 3 swales. Contractor shall provide 3 concrete parking space bumpers and install as shown on the plans. These bumpers shall be anchored with metal rods securing into the parking lot surface.
