Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Triangle Transit (TTA) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms that will review and redesign its www.triangletransit.org website. This project shall be performed in two phases. First phase (addressed as Project A) is to consist of Architectural Design, Development, and Implementation of a new website running on a Content Management System. The second phase of the project (addressed as Project B) would include the creation of secondary pieces like the mobile version of the site and a stand-alone mobile application (to work on iOS, Blackberry and Android platforms). The website must reflect the community it serves, the values of the organization, and serve as the nucleus for Triangle Transits external communications. Triangle Transit desires to enhance the design to make it: more user-friendly on desktop browsers and mobile platforms more accessible for persons with visual impairments bring better trip planning capability onto the home page and provide better social media integration (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, RSS Feeds, etc.) Regarding making our videos more visible on the homepage, a content management system is vital to the success of this project. With this redesign, Triangle Transit aims to create a newsroom that archives its Board meetings and serves as a resource center for accessing and downloading documents related to transit studies, long-range transit plans, and data. It is TTAs desire to make the site easy for a nontechnical staff person to maintain and update without the need to make major investments in technology or software. The chosen firm for the project will be expected to review the current website, make recommendations, implement architecture for the new website, and work with the Triangle Transit marketing team on copy and visual design. To be effective, the TTA web site services must be: - Safe and secure - Quick to load and operate - Easy to use and intuitive for customers - Flexible to allow for growth of site - Controlled by internal staff - Work on various platforms (desktops, multiple internet browsers, mobile browsers and mobile operating systems) - Visually pleasing - Informative To be effective, the TTA hosting services must possess the following attributes: - Hosting provider owns and operates servers and facility - A secure, reliable connection to the internet - Web site must be available 24/7 - Backup power systems - FTP and either SFTP or FTPS access - Provide user authentication, authorization and auditing controls for access RFP 12-018 Website Design, Architecture, Development and Implementation Page 2 of 9 - Minimum 150 GB of hard drive space or greater, 8GB of memory, (1) 2.8 GHZ Processor with 4 Cores, scalable and manageable as the website grows over time - Monthly Bandwidth must be 1GB In/Out - Any upgrades/patches to the hosting services should be provided by the hosting company - All backups of the site must be taken daily and must be protected from catastrophic events using site backup - Development site for updates of site design with migration to live site - Use of sandbox or preview function when updating pages of the site - Web site security and protection must be maintained using appropriate firewall, intrusion detection and encryption technology. - Integration with Google Analytics Web site Traffic Statistics / Analysis program, - Compatible with Linux technologies and back end systems Development of a Hosting migration plan - Service Level Agreement (SLA) that guarantees 99.9% availability of the website - Responsive and knowledgeable technical support 24/7 - Free of advertising not authorized by Triangle Transit The Contract period shall begin immediately upon receipt of a written Notice to Proceed by the successful Proposer with Project A to be completed by October 31, 2012 or earlier, and Project B to be completed by February 28, 2013 or earlier, at which time the final deliverables shall be completed and delivered to TTA. The Scope of Services for this RFP is attached as Attachment A. All Proposers must be adequately staffed to provide the services required by this Scope of Services. B.
