The Mann Hall Renovation project includes a complete interior abatement and demolition scope of the existing four–story building (approx. 80,000 SF) followed by the construction of fully re-programmed classrooms, academic and study spaces, fourth-floor laboratory space (alternate), and an eSports arena on NC State’s main campus. To support the re-programming of this building, a new mechanical penthouse will be constructed to feed the 4th-floor labs and a new elevator shaft will be installed (in addition to replacing the existing cab within a separate shaft) (approx. 83,000 SF once renovated). New electrical and mechanical equipment will be required, including replacing the existing transformer, and new fiber will be pulled from the existing manhole to support eSports needs. Brand-new finishes will also be required throughout the building, including carpet, resilient flooring, ceramic tile, acoustic wood paneling, acoustic wall paneling, drywall partitions, interior glass/glazing, stainless steel / ornamental type railings, and more
