Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State Farmers Market is seeking a security company to provide security for the market in the late afternoon, night and early morning hours. Security should be provided on (2) eight-hour shifts from 5:00 PM in the afternoon until 9:00 AM the next morning, seven days a week, year around with Christmas day being the exception. The Market closes at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve and reopens midnight Christmas night. A. Security would be provided on (2) eight-hour shifts from 5:00 PM in the afternoon until 9:00 AM in the morning, seven days per week, year around, with the exception being Christmas Day. B. Security for 75 acre fenced facility with eighteen buildings, and over 230,000 square feet under roof, including two points of entry and exit located at the main entrance, Farmers Market Drive which is open from 5:00 am until 8:00 pm Monday thru Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The second entrance is located on Agriculture Street, and is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and is only closed at Christmas. C. Vehicle: Vendor will supply a marked patrol vehicle for officers to patrol the market grounds. Vendor must maintain the vehicle, supply the fuel, and maintain insurance. D. Smartphone: Vendor will provide officers with a smartphone for easy contact with market staff and emergency personnel if needed. The smartphone will be installed with Tracktik security management software. The provided system will provide real time view and information for market management and the security company of what is going on at the market. The system will provide incident reporting, guard tours, and assignment schedules, and the ability to review security history. E. All security officers will have the authority to detain and charge any person violating North Carolina criminal laws, (North Carolina Statute 15a-401, giving the authority to chare and use necessary force to detain anyone coming a crime in the officer’s presence) or policies set forth in the agreement while on market property. The security officer(s) will appear in court and testify in the event that a suspect is brought to trial before a judge. All officers will be registered both Unarmed Security Certification and be certified as Armed Security Guards, where they will be trained on the legal issues of deadly force, as well as the fundamental, maintenance, and marksmanship on weapons. Officers must receive satisfactory grade on approved course by the state. Privat Protection Services will conduct Criminal History Report through the SBI of North Carolina along with finger print checks of all officers. Security company will provide liability insurance.
