The contractor must furnish all labor and supervision required to lift, grade, apply super-absorbent material by spraying, weigh or count as specified, and pack approximately 14,000 bags of pine/cedar seedlings and approximately 5,000 bags of hardwoods/cypress seedlings in accordance with the specifications and provisions of this contract. The contractor shall be responsible for lifting all seedlings. 1. The Contractor must lift seedlings placing seedlings in designated containers, bags/and or boxes and load the seedlings on a trailer for transport. 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for packing, strapping, and loading all seedlings on pallets. 3. The NCFS will provide equipment and operators necessary to loosen and/or raise trees from seedling beds. a. Loblolly pine will be lifted with a full bed mechanical style (Whitfield) lifter and at times deemed necessary by NCFS staff a full bed shaker style (Fobro, Lundeby) lifter will also be used to lift Loblolly pine. b. Other Pines, Eastern Red Cedar, Hardwoods, and Cypress species will be lifted with a full bed shaker style (Fobro, Lundeby) lifter only.
