Specifications include, but are not limited to:The security of students, faculty, staff and visitors is a top priority for Shaw University. There is a need to continuously assess evolving threats to the campuses, develop policies and procedures that mitigate or eliminate those threats, and further implement technologies or systems that provide an integrated security program. Equally important is to continuously assess existing physical security measures to validate their effectiveness. 5.02 The work for this RFP will entail vulnerability assessments of selected Shaw University campuses in order to determine the current effectiveness of providing protection and prevention from vandalism, violent crime, potential terrorist activities or other threats as identified during the survey phase of the campuses. 5.03 To undertake the challenges outlined in the Scope of Work, Shaw University desires to obtain the services of an Independent Security Consultancy/Contractor/Bidder with established credentials and extensive real-world security, law enforcement and senior administrative and consulting experience not affiliated with any manufacturer, contractor/bidder or integrator of security equipment. The independent security consulting company shall have an established office within 25 miles of Shaw University. Credentials will include the Certified Security Consultant (CSC) designation from the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC). Specific expertise in the following areas is critical: 1. Physical security assessments, to include the evaluation of organizational structure, policies and practices, security equipment, and systems integration.
