Any material including, but not limited to, loose aggregates, undesirable grasses and other accumulated material or foreign matter not intentionally attached or bonded to the shoulder pavement surface and not required for the operation or maintenance of the highway shall be removed by sweeping, cleaning, vacuuming, and disposing of the material. The Contractor will also be required to remove large items such as tires, bumpers, ladders, tree limbs, etc. which a mechanical sweeper or vacuum truck cannot remove. The Contractor may remove these items using any method approved by the Engineer. The Contractor shall perform routine sweeping on the road sections at the specified frequencies as shown in Attachments A and B elsewhere in this document. Sweeping on additional routes will be performed as needed and as directed by the Engineer. The number of cycles and sweeping shoulder mileage is an estimate and may be increased or decreased by written authorization of the Engineer and/or his representative. No claims may be filed due to reduction of quantities. No price adjustments will be made due to reduction of quantities. The work shall include furnishing all labor, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, traffic control, and disposal necessary for the prosecution and completion of the work.
