Specifications include, but are not limited to: Write a Request for Information (RFI) document, in consultation with the Mecklenburg County Security Director, to explore potential solutions for the future security platform for Mecklenburg County Government. This security platform shall include the capability to integrate multiple systems: physical access control system, video surveillance, intrusion detection, identity and access management, and the capability to support a full-functioning security operations center; as well as support for integration with a mass notification system, and threat monitoring software solutions. Moreover, the County would like to explore the option of allowing communication between this platform and a future building automation system. The County would like to post one (1) RFI, which will include subsections for at least each of these areas: access control and/or security management system, video system, intrusion system, mass notification system, and situational awareness (threat monitoring) system. At this time this is being considered as a County enterprise initiative, however it is still being determined as to the level of Department participation, including participation with the Sheriff’s Office, Judicial Operations, Courts, and Jail Operations.
