The City of Morganton invites engineering firms to submit qualificaƟons to provide professional design and construcƟon administraƟon/management services for the Rocky Ford Greenway rebuild and bank stabilizaƟon. In the fall of 2024, the City of Morganton was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, with substanƟal damage to several parks. The greenway secƟon at Rocky Ford was washed out and we now have about 700Ō of runoff/washout that needs to be repaired/replaced. The Morganton Greenway system started in 1993 and currently runs for about 4 miles along the Catawba River, and is one of the most important ameniƟes to the City of Morganton and its residents. The rebuild will consist of repairing damage to our greenway, and work to the stream bank to provide resiliency in the future.
