The design intent is to remove the old 4-circuit load centers in the 1950’s portion of the building and replace them with new load centers. The existing load centers are represented by symbol “LC4” and Note 3 on sheet ED101. New load centers are represented by symbol “LC8” and Key Notes 2 and 6 on Sheet E101. Existing feeders to the LC4 load centers will remain, except they will be spliced and extended as required to be refed from new panel MDP (see Demolition Note 5 and Key Note 11 on Sheet E-701). Please note that some of the old load centers have already been replaced with new load centers and these are represented by symbol “LC8” and Demolition Note 2 on Sheets ED101. The existing panelboards in the Janitor’s closet are intended to be demolished, but the overhead branch circuitry entering these panels is intended to remain for splicing to new branch circuits originating from new panel MDP (see Demolition Note 6 on ED102). A pullbox will be added above the location of the existing panels for the purpose of extending these circuits to be fed from new panel MDP (See Key Notes 7 & 8 on E-701).
