Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Review Traffic accident reports and other public documents to identify parties and potential damages to City property. • Search for damages to identified City property such as signs, fences, fire hydrants, building, traffic control boxes, etc. (excludes damages to City vehicles) • Contact insurance companies and file necessary documentation to begin a “recovery” of damages process. • Negotiate monetary amounts to be recovered, according to the written instruction/guidelines from the City • Send recovered amounts (net of recovery fees) to the City at least monthly. Prefer the receipts to be submitted electronically to the City. • Provide requested reporting, including reconciliations of recovery amount obtained and fee deducted per claim, either in electronic and/or hard copy form • Allow inspection and audit of records, as requested by the City • The Contractor will not be authorized to engage in any litigation activities on behalf of the City without express authorization from the City Attorney.
