Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide management, supervision, manpower, equipment, and materials necessary to provide moving and storage services for our media material on the third floor of the High Point Library. This project will include 3 different phases of moving books off the shelves and packing them into containers and then moving the containers into an offsite storage trailer and moving the book shelving to the teen garage onsite while the flooring is installed. Once the flooring is installed for each phase, the shelving can be moved back in place and books unpacked back to the shelving. We are allowing a week between each phase of the project to allow for moving and packing. The project would begin December 4, 2023, and would be finished before we close for the Christmas Holiday on December 24th if we can stay on track. We can extend it if necessary after we reopen. The First phase of the project includes the large print fiction collection and paperback collection. There are 17 smaller shelves that house the paperback collection which will be relocated to other areas of the 3rd floor. There is a section of shelving that will need to be dismantled from the wall that has 6 sections to it for large print nonfiction and biographies. The rest of the collection of large print consists of 12 free standing ranges of shelving. Total books for large print would be 8, 745 on the free-standing shelving and 704 on the shelving attached to the wall. The 17 bookshelves with paperbacks would house 2,258 books. Phase 2 will include the Books on CD collection and the first part of the fiction collection. There are 3 free standing ranges of shelving doubled sided with 7 units on each side. There are also 7 ranges of shelving attached to the wall. This phase also includes 10 free-standing ranges of shelving units and a group of 8 units that are attached to the wall that houses fiction. Total number of books in this phase would be approximately 12, 700 books. Books on CD on the attached shelving would total approximately 695 and those on the free-standing shelving would total 3,324. The third phase of the project will include the last part of the fiction collection and the staff breakroom. The last part of the fiction collection has 10 ranges of shelves. None are attached to the wall in this section. Total books in this phase would be approximately 12, 500 books.
