The affected sewer main is an 8” PVC SDR 35 Gravity Sanitary Sewer Service at a depth of approximately 13’. The lateral is a 4” schedule 40 pipe the deepest depth being approximately 13’. The water main is an 8” C-900 pipe at a depth of 3’ which has vertically deflected to a depth of 7’ below grade. The contractor shall abide by all OSHA standards, including Trench Box Safety. There are two-line items within this Scope of Work. Each of the two-line items shall be bid separately within line items on the contractor’s quote. The City of Havelock shall retain the right to accept none, a portion of, or all of the bid line items within the contractor’s quote. The two-line items are at 321 McDonald Blvd. and are located within a current 23’ long 7’ wide utility cut. This location is assumed to be the sewer main which is 8” PVC SDR 35 at approximately 13’ deep. The sewer main shall be replaced from the affected breakage 10’ in each direction for a total of approximately 20’ of 8” PVC SDR 35 pipe. Within the 8” PVC SDR 35 Gravity Sanitary Sewer Pipe there will also be three 4” Schedule 40 PVC lateral service connections. The lateral service connections are to be rebuilt a minimum of 4’ back into the lateral service and into the newly installed 8” PVC SDR 35 Sanitary Sewer Pipe. There is an 8” C-900 water main within the same location which is at a depth of 3’ and has vertically deflected to an elevation of 7’ below grade. This water main shall be replaced approximately 60’ in both directions from the center of the deepest deflection for a total of approximately 120’ of 8” C-900 water main replacement; the current utility cut will have to be enlarged to accommodate the 8” C-900 water line replacement. The contractor shall be responsible for actuation of water valves and ensuring isolation of water lines before water line replacement shall begin. All traffic control shall be the responsibility of the contractor, all driveways shall be made accessible to residents during the course of this project. All traffic control shall be in accordance with the specifications within section 8. The contractor shall notify a City of Havelock representative of the water outage 48 hours in advance of the outage to allow notifications to be sent to all residents. In no case shall the water outage exceed a total of twelve hours from the time water service is shut off. All asphalt and concrete driveway restoration, including the existing utility cut, shall be the responsibility of the contractor. All restoration shall follow the specifications for asphalt and concrete driveway restoration. See section 9 for asphalt restoration and section 10 for concrete driveway restoration and figures 5 & 6
