a. Contractor shall remove existing roofing materials and install a new roofing system at each of the following buildings: i. Building B-1 (Belt Press Operations) ii. Building B-6 (First Stage Aeration) iii. Building B-10 (Second Stage Aeration) iv. Building B-12 (Raw Sewage Pump Station) b. The new roofing shall be single-ply membrane. Minimum thickness of the membrane shall be as required by manufacturer to achieve a full system warranty of at least 20 years. The complete roofing system, including membrane, insulation, and attachments, shall meet requirements of NC State Building Code (including ASCE-7 for wind uplift) and UL Class A. Acceptable manufacturers include: i. Bondcote ii. Fibertite iii. Johns Manville iv. Sika (Sarnafil) Other single-ply roof systems shall be reviewed by the County Engineer, and if accepted, shall be included in an Addendum prior to the bid opening. c. Provide roofing insulation with an R-value of at least 5. Type of insulation must be approved for use by membrane manufacturer and meet requirements of the above noted NC State Building Code (including ASCE-7 for wind uplift) and UL designs. d. Appropriately extend roofing membrane above base of parapet metal clip flashing. Remove, replace, and repair metal flashing as required for this work. e. Replace existing bulkhead penthouse wood framed sheet metal siding roof access on Building B-1 (Belt Press Operations) with like configuration of equal dimensions, metal framing and siding, interior light, and latchable door, in compliance with NC State Building Code requirements (including ASCE-7 for wind uplift). f. Install OSHA compliant walkway pads on Building B-1 (approximately 125 linear feet). g. Perform daily clean up to collect all wrappings, empty containers, paper, and other debris from the project site. Remove all construction waste and debris from the site and dispose of properly at the end of the project work.
