Specifications include, but are not limited to: University of North Carolina Asheville (hereafter referred to as UNC Asheville) seeks aqualified company to respond to the RFI to address the University's desire to optimizethe services provided by the campus bookstore.The provision of bookstore services is a very important component of UNC Asheville'scommitment to students, faculty and staff. UNC Asheville aims to provide high-quality,flexible educational programs and services which are academically, geographically, andfinancially accessible. Bookstores are an integral element of the total educational andacademic mission.In response to UNC Asheville's strong commitment to lowering textbooks costs forstudents, UNC Asheville is investigating alternatives to providing the functions of theirexisting bookstore and considering options that support improved sales of existinginventory, provide financial flexibility to the University, increase revenue and mostimportantly provide increased level of service to students.The successful company will provide a state of the art bookstore management processand system that will allow the UNC Asheville bookstores to provide excellent service toits constituents while seamlessly integrating efficiencies into all processes of bookstoreoperations, including accounting, online sales, and operations. The new bookstoreservices will be capable of expansion as the Bookstore continues to grow. As such, thesuccessful company will have an eye on the future and will continue to provideinnovative technologies for system users over time
