The NESC building was constructed in 2000 and is comprised of a one-story low slope roof area of approximately 13,300 square feet including parapet walls and a second story roof area of approximately 14,790 square feet, for a total of 28,090 square feet. The roof system is original to the building and consists of 1.5-inch type B metal roof deck, 2.5-inch polyisocyanurate insulation mechanically fastened, 0.5-inch perlite coverboard adhered and an asphalt built-up roof with a gravel surface. The college completed a roof assessment that determined the roof membrane has no remaining service life and therefore is a good candidate for a recover with an 80mil PVC membrane since the vast majority of the insulation is dry.
