Specifications include, but are not limited to: Durham Public Schools is requesting pricing for inspections that meet NFPA state and local standards on several items related to fire safety. Each item listed below can be bid on separately or can be bid as a package with all or multiple listed items. Vendor (s) may be selected for one, multiple or all inspections based on qualifications and selection criteria described; 1. Fire Alarm Inspections at each DPS site – Semi -Yearly a. An inspection should be completed in August and February of each school calendar year. b. Zone maps including location of each life safety device should be posted after each inspection. Zone map must be posted at each school site and hare with the maintenance department. 2. Water Based Suppression systems/ Sprinkler inspections (three quarterly and 1 yearly inspections: Every 3 months) • Water Based/ sprinkler inspections should show difference between quarterly and yearly inspection prices. 3. Fire extinguisher inspections and servicing - Yearly • Fire Extinguisher documentation should have a computerized documentation of locations of each fire extinguisher per site and shared with maintenance for future reference. 4. Fire curtain/ door drop testing – Yearly a. There are 14 located across the district 5. Kitchen hood and fire suppression testing - Semi- Annually a. There are 108 hoods located across the district) b. Semi – Annual Kitchen hood testing should be scheduled during the summer break and the winter break. 6. Fire Hydrant inspections at each site - Yearly a. For each fire hydrant that is located on DPS property. 7. Fire Suppression Backflows – Yearly a. Proper back flow testing and repairs must be done in conjunction with the Fire Marshals Office. The vendor is required to obtain the proper permitting. 8. Emergency Exit Signs and Lights a. 90 Minute Yearly Testing b. As needed repairs and inspections
