Wayfinding and Signage Concept Design and Prototyping- These findings should be used to develop designs for signage and wayfinding that will help people find their way around the library in the spaces below. • Inside the library ο All rooms, spaces, and service points in the library should be identified (ie, service desks, restrooms, children’s room, main entrance, teen room, collections, meeting rooms, computer terminals, etc.) through central wayfinding signage, individual identification signs, kiosks, and/or maps. ο Preference for systems that indicate expectations for any given space, e.g., “quiet zone” or “just for kids”. • Outside the library ο Identify trails, features, and spaces in Pritchard Park (eg, Outdoor classroom, pollinator garden, bird blind, terrace, bike rack) through central wayfinding signage, kiosk, and/or maps. ο Designs should integrate with existing park signage/branding and proposed indoor signage ο Exterior library building signage for library hours Several prototypes for the concept designs should be presented to stakeholders for their input. Revisions and edits to the designs will incorporate their feedback. Stakeholders who will provide input are listed below: • Library staff • Neurodiverse community members • Speakers of languages other than English and low-English proficiency individuals Wayfinding and Signage Master Plan The final plan should include: • Your findings in the following areas: assessment of existing signage and stakeholder preferences, particularly non-English speakers and neurodiverse community members. • Designs for all proposed signage along with location recommendations • Recommendations for which existing signage should be replaced or combined (for example, directional markers, maps, building/room identification signs, and information kiosks) • Recommended strategy for integrating central wayfinding signs with library material signs, eg, genre labels or shelf markers. • Maps of the library and park that can be used for various purposes such as signage, printing, and digital formats. • A proposed method for incorporating digital wayfinding signage...
