Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the work required for lawn care services at the City of Raleigh facilities. The scope of work includes mowing, edging, trimming, fertilization, weed removal, mulching/pine straw applications, tree and shrub maintenance, pruning, leaf removal, snow and ice removal, large open field areas, and irrigation where applicable. Lawn mowing and edging shall be performed as needed to meet the City landscape standards. When lawns cannot be cut on the scheduled day due to rain, they must be cut as soon as weather and ground conditions permit. This trimming shall include cutting all grass along walls, fences, foundations, curbs, sidewalks, shrubs, tree basins, poles, guy wires, irrigation & utility boxes, and any other object within or immediately adjacent to the lawn areas. Trimming shall be done by power edger or by hand tool. Clippings shall be removed from all adjacent walkways and other paved surfaces immediately after each mowing/edging. Mowing all turf areas once per week during the months of March through November. Remaining months will be cut as needed or requested. The grass is to be mowed routinely to maintain an average height of 2 1/2” to 3 1/2”. Clippings must be removed from the lawn upon after service has been completed. Services may include upcoming large open field grass turf surfaces added. Areas considered as “open field areas”, information will be sent to the contractor for details of start dates as amendments to the contract. Edging shall be done along all concrete sidewalks and curbs within the same schedule as mowing with the exception of plant beds which can be every other week.
