Window Wells: • Window wells will be cleared of debris twice a year in March and November at 624 Sykes Street. Trash and Litter Pick-Up: • Trash and litter will be removed from mowing areas before mowing begins. Mowing over trash and litter is prohibited. • The contractor is responsible for weekly trash and litter removal in common areas, natural areas, and parking lots, even during weeks when mowing is not performed due to weather or seasonal conditions. • During periods of non-mowing (such as drought or excessive rain), and in non-mowing seasons, weekly site visits will be conducted to remove trash from common areas, grounds, and parking lots. Mowing: • Mow all areas weekly during the period of March through October and bi-weekly in November or as needed during drought conditions. • Grass will be cut to a height of two to three inches (2”-3”), based on conditions, not to exceed three inches (3”). At no time will the grass be allowed to become overgrown. • Excess grass clippings, clumps, or windrows are to be removed. • The Contractor will take special care not to blow clippings and yard debris into storm drains, outside units, or condensers. • The Contractor may be required to provide touch-up work, as needed and with advance notice, due to severe weather, excessive rain, or special Chapel Hill Public Housing events. Trimming: • Trimming and edging work will be performed when mowing occurs. • Areas around buildings, trees, fences, sidewalks, parking areas, curbs, mulch beds and similar locations within the work areas, shall be trimmed to the specified mowing height. • Chemical edging will not be allowed in lieu of standard edging and will only be allowed to treat parking lots and sidewalk cracks where there are standalone weeds, grass, etc. that can be treated separate from the lawn areas. • All chemical pesticide and herbicide applications will be made by a person that holds a valid NC Pesticide Applicator License. • Contractor must keep property fencing clean from vegetation overgrowth and debris.
