SPECIMEN PICK-UP: Specimens are to be transported two (2) times per day from the SHC by a representative of the vendor Monday through Friday. The pick-up times Monday through Friday are 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm. In the summer semester (mid-May through mid-August), pick-up needs may vary, potentially only one (1) pick-up at the end of the day necessary. There shall be no additional charge for routine or STAT transportation of specimens. Mail pickup is not acceptable. SPECIMEN TRACKING: Vendor will be responsible for providing a means of specimen tracking from the SHC to the destination laboratory, preferably without interfering with our IT firewall. This shall include tracking of specimen pickup time, date, and temperature, drop off time, date, and temperature, and the time and date it began processing at the destination laboratory. This is significant for tracing specimen storage and integrity and reduces the chance of misplaced samples. The vendor must describe what equipment and platform will be used to track specimens. STAT TESTING AVAILABILITY: STAT tests must be performed in or near Charlotte, NC. STAT specimens are to be picked up within one (1) hour of the SHC contacting the vendor. STAT tests are to be performed and reported to the SHC within two (2) hours of pickup. Below is a list of possible stat tests.
