Description An abundance of non-organic trash in a multitude of forms is deposited daily along the roadsides of State Maintained Highways. These conditions detract from the visual quality and safety of the roadside landscape. This contract is for litter/debris removal and recycling on Interstate and Primary Routes and their interchanges within the State Maintained Highway System Right of Way in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties in Division 11. The routine work in this contract includes monthly cleanups on all routes identified in the proposal documents under “Litter/Debris Removal and Recycling Plans”. Contractor will provide routine litter removal along all identified routes during each calendar month and in accordance with intermediate completion times. In unscheduled litter incidents, the Contractor may be required to pick up litter/debris on routes, or section(s) thereof, identified in the proposal more than the anticipated cycles, or on other routes not included in the proposal. These will be beyond routine and considered Additional Litter/Debris Removal and Recycling. The Contractor will be required to mobilize within Seventy Two (72) hours or as directed by the Engineer.
