Specifications include, but are not limited to: The NC Department of Adult Correction, Division of Comprehensive Health Services solicits proposals for the provision of Inpatient Medical/Surgical Nursing Services to include operational oversight, leadership, and direct care for a newly established Long-Term Acute Care Unit within the Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh, NC. Central Prison Healthcare Complex (CPHC) in Raleigh, NC serves as a regional medical center with 120 inpatient hospital beds and a 216-bed mental health facility. CPHC is the hub of medical activity for all male Offenders with a custody classification of medium, close and maximum. The Healthcare Complex services the medical needs of approximately 10,000 inmates. CPHC has in-house physician coverage twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Patients treated at this facility range from acute inpatient to domiciliary. Skilled, intermediate ambulatory/outpatient nursing care is available at CPHC. The Complex operates numerous specialty outpatient clinics, including orthopedics, neurology, general surgery, and ENT. Other specialty services are available by transporting inmates to preferred providers in nearby towns. The outpatient clinics are extremely active requiring frequent access to advanced diagnostics such as CT, MRI and Ultrasound. In order to reduce costs and expand the Department’s in-house healthcare capabilities to accommodate and centralize the chronically infirmed or debilitated Offender population, the Department has established a designated Long-Term Acute Care Unit located within the Central Prison Healthcare Complex. To support and accomplish this mission, the Department intends to contract with a qualified Vendor to provide complete nursing services to effectively manage and staff the newly established Long-Term Acute Care Unit;
