This is a Federally funded renewable Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for Roadway Sweeping, Debris Removal, and Storm Drain System Cleaning along various Interstate, Primary, and Secondary Routes in Buncombe, Madison, and Yancey Counties in Division 13. The Contractor shall furnish labor, equipment, traffic control, and materials for the project in accordance with the most current edition of the NCDOT Standard Specifications, NCDOT Standard Drawings, and/or the Project Special Provisions herein. It is intended that the work will be completed in a neat, workmanlike manner. These specifications and special provisions are end-result oriented. Although the main purpose of this contract is to accomplish road sweeping operations on State roadways as approved by the Engineer, the Contractor will encounter objects larger than what a vacuum or mechanical sweeper can remove. Objects such as, but not limited to, tires, tire parts, hub caps, large stones, boxes, tree limbs, wood, cable, etc. may be encountered by the Contractor. At such time the Contractor shall remove these objects by hand and dispose of them at an approved site if vacuum or mechanical sweeping means are unsuccessful.
