Demolition: Demo existing 60 kw Cummins Generator (existing generator to be retained by the City of Asheville) Contractor is responsible for transporting existing generator to storage up to 20 miles from 191 Lake Eden Road ( either Northfork Water Treatment Plant, 3374 Northfork-Leftfork Rd Black Mountain NC or City of Asheville Fleet Services, 173 South Charlotte St Asheville NC). Power must be maintained at all times except for short power outages to make temporary or permanent connections. Power outages are to be scheduled with water production 24 hours in advance ( Russell Edwards (828- 777-0997) to ensure tanks are full at the start of the outage and must not exceed 6 hours. Remove existing wiring between the Generator pad and Transfer switch Clean any debris from the interior of the conduits. Remove existing wiring between generator and 120/240v panel for battery charger/engine block heater Clean any debris from the interior of the conduits. All materials/wiring removed to be retained by the City of Asheville Water Department Installation: Raise generator mounting 18”. Extend conduits and gas (propane) piping to new elevation. Replace gas secondary regulator Install new generator on new raised pad/platform. Contractor is responsible for transporting the new 60 Kw Generator from storage at Northfork Water treatment Plant, 3374 Northfork-Leftfork Rd, Black Mountain NC 28711 to 191 Lake Eden Road Black Mountain NC for Installation. ( Approximately 6 miles) Pull new wiring to the generator. All new feeder wiring shall be subjected to a megger test (insulation test) to verify the integrity of the insulation. Pull new wire from 120/240v panel for engine block heater and battery charger. Make final connections to the generator.
