The purpose and intent of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide two Part-Time Certified Peer Support Specialists with Substance Use Experience who will help participants with coping skills, re-entry support to inmates being released, developing relapse prevention plans, and completing discharge planning. 3.1 Peer Support Specialists will each work 29.5 hours per week, one at the Greensboro Detention Center and the other at the High Point Detention Center. Both Specialists will help MAT program participants with their coping skills, provide reentry support for inmates being released, develop relapse prevention plans, and complete discharge planning that connects participants to an appropriate outside organization for postrelease care and monitoring. 3.2 The Awarded Provider must employ Certified Peer Support Specialists with Substance Use Experience, and they must be trained in peer counseling, life skills, and the impact of reentry on individuals. The Specialist must be qualified and trained to provide effective diversion and/or reentry services and maintain the confidentiality of program participants’ medical and justice involvement history.
