• Inspection and testing of the fire alarm systems shall be done in accordance with the methodology and standards set forth in NFPA 72, Chapter 14. Any additional requirements from federal, state, or local agencies will be adhered to as well. This includes 29 CFR 1910.164 and any other code adaptations enforced by the authority having jurisdiction. • Inspection and testing shall include all initiating devices programmed to the fire alarm control panel. This includes visual verification of inspection of other fire protection systems that interface with the fire alarm control panel (sprinkler systems, hood systems, suppression systems, fire doors, elevator recall, and others). All notification devices shall also be inspected properly to the standards set forth in NFPA 72 and by the local AHJ. • Testing of fire doors and dampers shall be performed according to manufacturer’s guidelines and NFPA standards. • A record of each inspection, test, or service shall be maintained as specified in NFPA standards and local, State, or Federal statutes. Copies of each inspection shall be forwarded to the local, State, or Federal authorities as required by law, code, or ordinance of the AHJ.
