Provide boarding services for up to four (4) horses of the Raleigh Police Department’s Mounted Unit. • Provide parking for personnel vehicles (departmental vehicles and personal vehicles) • Provide parking for four (4) police tow vehicles and four (4) attached horse trailers. • Require annual test for Coggins Disease to insure other non-police horses at the facility test negative for Coggins Disease. • Provide private pasture for police horses only. • Provide a schedule, seasonal (summer and winter) rotation for the horses. • Provide illuminated barn area for the horses. • Provide private stall for each police horse with lighting. • Provide cooling fans in the barn stall area. • Feed the horses two (2) times (morning and afternoon) a day. • Provide vet approved feed • Provide daily fresh water to the horses. • Provide daily cleaning to the horse stalls. • Provide the Raleigh Police Department’s Mounted Unit 24 hour access to the facility and horses. • Provide the Raleigh Police Department’s Mounted Unit sole access to the riding ring at least once per month for training purposes. • Provide concrete wash pit for bathing the horses. • Be adaptive to unscheduled training (fireworks, blank gun shots, large training balls, flares, emergency vehicle lights and sirens, etc.) days with the possibility of night training. • Provide supervision to the horses when the Raleigh Police Officers are not working. The facility manager or designated person in charge should be able to identify injuries or illnesses to police horses and notify the Raleigh Police Department accordingly.
