Firms should offer a proposal for day treatment services daily during the school year consistent with the North Carolina Service Definition (MH/DD/SAS State-Funded Enhanced Mental Health Services). Firms are encouraged to propose mental health services designed specifically for young children, grades K-12, that will enhance their educational goals in collaboration with Buncombe County Schools. Required components should address mental health services with emphasis on trauma-focused strategies that can be implemented in both school and community settings. Treatment plans developed in collaboration with families and school personnel should address goals to improve functional skills to allow students to function more successfully in the mainstream educational setting, maintain residence with a family or community based non-institutional setting and maintain appropriate role functioning in community settings.
