Brunswick County has established the following objectives for this project. Any changes to the specifications or Scope of Work will be made in the form of an Addendum to this Request for Proposals and will be supplied to all known prospective contractors and posted on the Brunswick County website. Notwithstanding the foregoing, contractors will be responsible for ensuring that they have all addenda. Brunswick County may negotiate and refine the final Scope of Work with the selected contractor. Brunswick County reserves the right to negotiate additional services with the selected contractor at any time after the initial contract award. Contractor shall perform landscape maintenance at various locations throughout Brunswick County, as more particularly set forth in the Form of Proposal and accompanying maps attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Each annual maintenance cycle includes, without limitation, removing any litter or debris from areas being maintained and including mowing and trimming as necessary. Contractor will be responsible for mowing a 30’ feet wide area (15’ either side of the identified infrastructure) which shall be clearly marked by locating flags or ribbon by County staff prior to each maintenance cycle. Contractor will be responsible for removing trees up to 10” in diameter within the easement. Contractor shall not mow any established shrubbery in easement areas. Contractor shall also trim closely around vaults, hydrants, blow-offs, and other structures. Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment and other resources necessary to complete this Scope of Work and shall be responsible for all costs associated with same. The selected contractor shall conduct each annual maintenance cycle in one (1) continuous effort per location. Contractor shall be responsible for notification to County a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours in advance of beginning each maintenance cycle to enable County staff to mark the respective areas. Brunswick County reserves the right to omit certain maintenance areas due to construction activities, inaccurate mapping of utilities, etc. Each location will be maintained annually.
