This is a complete rebuild of the existing station that provides proper response times to areas of Emerald Isle and eastward. This project is included in the Town’ s FY 2025-2026 Capital Improvement Plan, and is primarily funded by FEMA Public Assistance (Section 428 Excess Funds). To design and construct a single-story fire station not to exceed 9,600 total sq ft. that will house an engine company, an ALS ambulance, a pickup truck with jet ski, an air cascade trailer, and 5 fire personnel per shift. The general floor plan and site layout will include three back-in apparatus bays to the North side of property. Three apparatus bays will exit toward the East to an apparatus front ramp that will exit onto Emerald Drive to the South. The Southside of the station will include fire watch room, an office, work out area, fire personnel living quarters to include dayroom/kitchen/ and sleeping quarters. Site work will include curb and gutter, underground utilities, on-site parking, walkways, and landscaping. The scope of work is to provide design and construction services for the project throughout preconstruction and construction phases, including but not limited to, schematic design, preliminary design, construction documents, coordination with other agencies, geotechnical engineering, surveying, cost opinions during design development, final design meeting Federal, State and local requirements, technical specifications, cost opinion at various stages of the project, obtaining all necessary permits, scheduling, cost control, project management, constructing the fire station, quality assurance and quality control of design and construction related activities, construction management, completing project close-out activities. The contractor will be required to coordinate with other vendors hired by the Town to complete specific fire IT systems.
