Specifications include, but are not limited to: Providing a consulting team to provide design and construction administration services for Deicing Pad and South Cross-Field Taxiway. The proposed Southwest De-Ice Pad will be constructed south of TWY Uniform and east of TWY Echo to accommodate up to five Group 5 aircraft de-icing positions. This pad will replace the existing de-icing area on the South Cargo Ramp. Grading will be towards vegetated collection areas to filter de-icing fluids and storm water runoff as set forth in Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s (“CLT”’s or “airports”) National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The proposed project will extend TWY Foxtrot south from Runway 5 through the proposed Southwest De-icing Pad to the approach end of Runway 36C. This extension will connect the air carrier ramp to the De-icing Pad and provide dual ADG V taxiway capability along the southern portion of Runway 36C while maintaining ADG V separation from the de-ice pad. The proposed project will construct a South Crossfield Taxiway to connect the east and west sides of the airfield from the TWY Foxtrot Extension to the TWY Charlie. With the Southwest De-icing Pad, this taxiway becomes necessary to provide efficient taxi flow for de-icing aircraft to the runway ends. This taxiway will also provide relief to the air carrier ramp by segregating military, general aviation, and cargo operations from the vicinity of the air carrier ramp to avoid delay to those aircraft movements.
