Under the direction of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Electrical Supervisor, the contractor shall provide journey-level electrical maintenance technician services within the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Electrical Department. The Electrical Department is responsible for the operation, repair, and upkeep of the University’s electrical infrastructure, systems, and equipment. The contracted position must be capable of performing preventive maintenance, installation, system controls management, troubleshooting, and repairs for: Medium voltage primary infrastructure Secondary power systems Interior and exterior lighting, including controls Electrical infrastructure supporting chillers, boilers, cooling towers, motors, BAS systems, and refrigeration systems across all campus facilities Routine assignments may involve standard repairs, while specialized or unusual assignments will be conducted with supervisor direction. The technician is expected to perform routine tasks independently and escalate unprecedented situations for supervisor coordination. Work Requirements The contractor shall be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of both interior and exterior electrical infrastructure. Systems may include, but are not limited to: Power distribution (main panels, sub-panels, transformers – both liquid and dry type) Lighting systems and controls Wiring infrastructure, raceways, and control systems Systems operating at voltages from 24 VDC to 480/277 VAC Special systems, including: Life safety systems (fire alarm control panels, egress lighting, and emergency power systems) Generator transfer switch controls
